About Us

The Party Wall Consultancy is a niche practice of consultant Party Wall Surveyors set up in 2009 to specialise in all matters associated with the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.  Our consultants are Chartered Building Surveyors and Certified Commercial Mediators with considerable experience in property related disputes and the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.  This principally concerns fulfilling a statutory appointment under the Act to administer the resolution of  'disputes' arising between owners, but also advising on the applicability of the Act in relation to works proposed by Building Owners and service of formal notices.

We are appointed on Party Wall matters concerning both residential and commercial property throughout London and Southern England in both the public and private sector.  Our head office is based in Bristol, which, rather fittingly, was the only other British city outside London to have its own Party Wall legislation prior to the 1996 Act.*  The Bristol office covers the South West, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire and our Guildford office covers London, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.

All our consultants are Chartered Building Surveyors and Accredited Certified Commercial Mediators holding practice certificates for professional mediation services; see our mediation page for more information.  Our consultants can be appointed as Mediator on neighbourly disputes where the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 does not apply.

As experienced experts in Party Wall matters, The Party Wall Consultancy is one of the leading specialist practices in this field.  Our consultants are all Fellow members of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, the principle professional body for Party Walls expertise, and are also members of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club.

We hold full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
